問3 次の英文は,ある高校生が英語の授業で行ったスピーチの原稿です。これを読んであとの問いに答えなさい。
 Last week I visited an elementary school near my high school and helped teachers there with foreign language activities.Some students and an *ALT from my high school joined the class and did some activities with pupils using English.At first I was worried whether I could deal with them well, but I tried my best with the help of the ALT.We taught the pupils some English expressions for greeting each other, asking and answering questions.We played some games by using those expressions.They were excited about the games and enjoyed them very much.After the class many of the pupils came to us and said that they were very happy ①(understood / make / themselves / English / in / to ).Their words made me very happy and reminded me of ( ② ) experiences.I would often get very excited to communicate with others in English when I started learning English in junior high school.I think good communication in a foreign language gives us great joy.I hope the pupils will experience more joy communicating with many people.
